The Ultimate Resource for Fly Fishers Visiting the Highlands
At the heart of this site is our unique HiFly Fishing map and its underlying database, which provides information on more than 2200 salmon, sea trout & brown trout fisheries. Additional map layers display other useful location-based information, such as fishing tackle shops, permit outlets and boat moorings.
There are more than 130 salmon systems on the map, with 450 salmon beats and lochs. On rivers the beats are displayed over the centre line if double-banked, and parallel to the river if single-banked.
There are more than 1600 brown trout lochs split by boat fishing, bank fishing and private lochs. Where estates, angling clubs or hotels offer roving permits, these zones can be overlayed.
Sea trout fisheries are displayed as light blue pins. Estuaries and sea pools are designated by yellow lines.

The HiFly Fishing map is tightly integrated into the subscription site. It's displayed on each Fishing Area page in a side-by-side view with selected fishery listings collated into geo-directories, for trout lochs and individual salmon rivers. There are also in-depth features for the best fly fishing locations, and an ever-growing library of loch fly-overs and fly-overs/fly-thro's of salmon beats.
